Story Slam - Sharing Life @ Mic
Doyle's CafeMarch 31, 2015 7:00 PM
3484 Washington Street
Boston, MA 02130
1st Sundays 7:00PM $10 admission Come and share your own human experience or listen to outrageous true tales from Boston and beyond. Think you can tell a great story? Come and share your five minute  story for a panel of three to five judges. Competitors will drop their name in a hat and be chosen at random to compete against nine other tellers.   Rather sit back and watch the events unravel? Listeners have an opportunity to participate in storytelling games and vote for an audience choice winner. We cant wait to listen to your great stories!  Each month a theme is provided to provide framework for the 10 tellers selected.  Trivia games with prizes take place in between tellers while the judges judge.  Stories are 5 minutes long.  $50 cash prize for 1st place and $25 Doyles give certificate for 2nd place.     FAQs  Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? No there is no age limit.  We don't have control over the content of the stories told but the even is a "PG" event.  Small children would be bored.  Quiet babes in arms are welcome.  Tellers age 13 and up can compete.  What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Green Street or Forest Hills Station on the Orange line or plenty of free parking in 2 lots or on the street. Can I reserve a seat? We offered reserved tables with the purchase of 4 or more tickets.  Please email: robinmaxfield@mac.com with the email address used for the purchase of the tickets and the best available table will be reserved on first come first served basis.  Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? robinmaxfield@mac.com

Boston, MA 02130
Boston Comedy Chicks has the distinction of being the citys only ongoing, all-female comedy night and we are excited to launch our fourth year as Boston's ONLY all female comedy night at historic landmark: Doyle's Cafe in Jamaica Plain.  Each 3rd Sunday of the month we bring you a new showcase of local creative chick comedians who are storytellers, stand-ups, sketch comedy and improv. It's like being at the ultimate Girls Night Out (where the men are welcome)! Please sign up on our website to get show promotion announcements once per month! You can order food and drink during the show, there is table service.  Doyle's Cafe has one of the largest draft beer selections in Boston.    FAQs  Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? Doyle's is a restaurant so there is no age requirement set by them.  Our comics ask that listeners be at least 18 as some of the material can be graphic...hilarious but graphic.  It's tough being female!  What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? There is plenty of parking -two lots plus on street parking is free.  You can also take the Orange line and walk from Green Street or Forest Hills Station, it's about halfway between the two.  Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? Yes you can! Send an email to bostoncomedychicks@gmail.com and we will get you an answer pronto! We are full of answers (and other things)! Can I reserve a table?  With the purchase of 4 or more tickets we will reserve a table for your group.  Please email us at bostoncomedychicks@gmail.com from the email  (or include in the body) which was used to purchase the tickets. Let us know the name of your group like "JP MOMS" and we will put a sign on your table as well as give you the best seats!
