Experience an enchanting night of Celtic music and dance in honor of the holiday season at Brian O'Donovan's annual "A Christmas Celtic Sojourn" at Cutler Majestic Theatre. This year's 12th anniversary show promises to be as spectacular as ever, with American Irish music pioneers Solas performing and the much-lauded Foghorn Stringband taking the stage to celebrate the relationship between Irish and Appalachian music. Also set to appear are the acclaimed Irish vocal duo Lumiere, hailing from County Kerry, as well as young dancers from the Harney Academy of Irish Dance in Walpole. O'Donovan, the host of WGBH's national radio program, has been at the helm of this live show since 2003, and he promises some surprises for this latest version as well.

Combining ballet, swing, flamenco, hip-hop, step and urban tap along with Tchaikovsky's classic score and Duke Ellington's signature swing, Tony Williams' "Urban Nutcracker" features a multicultural cast of talented dancers in this contemporary retelling of the classic fairy tale. Now in its 14th year, the production remains fresh with updated choreography, new costumes and surprise guest stars. Instead of the traditional children's roles "Clara" and "Fritz," though, this version of the story features the characters Clarice and Omar, whose roles are shared by six talented local kids, ages 9-13.
