Timeless children's classic "The Velveteen Rabbit" goes from the bedside table to the theatrical stage in this magical production from The Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology. In Margery Williams' touching story, a young boy forms a special bond with his stuffed rabbit, who wants nothing more than to become real through the love of its owner. Adapted for the stage by BCT Executive Artistic Director Burgess Clark, the play introduces this poignant tale to a new generation of fans and reminds older generations why it still tugs at their heartstrings after all these years.
Waltham's own Moody Street String Band returns to Gore Place, the beautiful Federal period historic house and estate of former Massachusetts Governor Christopher Gore. Played on accordion, fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bodhrán (a type of traditional Irish frame drum) and bass, the concert will feature a selection of the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and America. From polkas and reels to jigs, waltzes and more, this promises to be a lively and enlightening show of timeless tunes performed in a unique setting.
