Arts & Museums
The Maison de l'Outil, the House of Tools, is a museum and library dedicated to the historic and contemporary creation and utilization of tools. Partnerships with the CAMAC art center, crystal craftsmen, a museum of sickles and scythes, and the Hawley Collection of edge-tools and cutlery encourage the exploration of tools and the growing technology behind their creation and mastery. Housed in the beautiful Renaissance-style Hotel de Mauroy, the collection (over 10,000 tools on display) and the building is worth checking out.
Founded by the owners of famed luxury clothing brand, Lacoste, this museum of modern art is a must-see for art enthusiasts and visitors. The museum features a wide variety of art like glass, painting, sculpture and ceramics and displays some serious names in the art world like Picasso, Matisse, Derain and Dufy. The museum is housed in a historic 16th to 18th-century building that once was a bishop's palace. It's a great place to visit for both young and old while exploring the enchanting city of Troyes.
