Set upon the waters of the Wabash River, Fairbanks Park witnesses a spate of cultural events at its amphitheater and sprawling lawns. Music, movie and art festivals are a common occurrence at this well-planned park that welcomes visitors on non-event days too. Families on picnics and groups of friends can be sighted on weekends and summers, enjoying the designated play areas, shelters and barbecue grills. Boating and angling by the lakeside is another favorite past time of regulars and locals.
