Verulam House, formerly called 'Bishop's Palace', is a 19th Century structure encompassed by well-maintained, lush green gardens. Currently a Nursing and Residential Care Home, the building was designed by the popular architect Caroe, whose aesthetic imprints on the building have still been carefully preserved. This building has an altruistic past, largely due to the fact that it was previously used as a maternity hospital during the tragic Second World War. The venue is flanked by many historical attractions, owing to its proximity to the ancient Roman city of Verulamium.

St. Stephen's Church, St. Albans, is believed to have been established as early as 948 CE and was intended to receive pilgrims visiting the St. Albans Shrine. The architectural style of the current building dates back to Medieval times, and little more than a small window has survived from the original building. The spire was added in 19th Century, while the magnificent ornamental woodwork and pews are Victorian in style. Although the church is a mix of a number of styles and time periods, there is still a sense of harmony in its overall appearance. The services have a modern touch even as the church radiates with the love of the many generations it has served.

The village of Redbourn is situated to the north-west of St Albans. Its historic relevance rises from being surrounded by a hill fort to its southwest, dated to the Iron Age and a complex of Roman temples to its north. Agriculture was the mainstay of its local economy until newer businesses sprung up after the Industrial Revolution. The local parish conducts walks around the river Ver which flows in the south of Redbourn. This is a site of geological rarity as the Ver Valley is a chalk stream formed by covering of a thin layer of clay, gravel and silt at its bottom.
