    »King Diamond

    October 22, 2014

Born in Copenhagen as Kim Bendix Petersen, King Diamond is a heavy metal vocalist and musician known for his falsetto voice. Lead singer of Mercyful Fate and his eponymous band King Diamond, he creates hard hitting music with elements of both black metal and progressive metal. After getting his start in a series of hard rock bands, Diamond began incorporating horror themes and theatrics into his band Black Rose during the late 1970s and started developing is Satanic stage persona. He helped form Mercyful Fate in 1980s and has been releasing music with the band in sporadic bursts starting with its 1984 debut, Don't Break the Oath. Following Mercyful Fate's first breakup in 1985, Diamond and his former band mates Andy Larocque, Michael Denner, Timi Hansen and Mikkey Dee decided to join forces for a new band under the King Diamond name. Though the band has had several different incarnations, King Diamond has endured as one of metal's most recognizable figureheads.

    »Walk The Moon

    October 22, 2014 8:00 PM

Cincinnati, Ohio band Walk The Moon is an indie pop band of the highest order. An unabashed aesthetic of fun with a carefree attitude, Walk The Moon have the dance-punk energy of a group like The Killers and the optimism of OK Go. It's not clear if the band's aspirations are as pop as they sound, but it seems to be wedded closely to its artsy, indie roots enough to stay away from commercialism.

Royal Canoe is an indie rock band from Canada that was formed in 2009 by Winnipeg-based musician Matt Peters, who had been slowly building a repertoire of songs since he began experimenting with songwriting in 2006. His backing band, made up of several of his long-time friends, helped transform his songs into more robust compositions, particularly during live shows when Peters is often joined by a two-drummer rhythm section. Royal Canoe released its debut album Co-Op Mode, in 2010.

    »Widespread Panic

    October 22, 2014 7:30 PM

With a reputation as one of the most powerful and talented jam bands on the touring circuit, Widespread Panic has no doubt accomplished what it set out to do when it formed in 1986 in Athens, Georgia. But the road constantly beckons these musical war birds to do what they do best--play live and create heady, instrumental jams. The band's shows, chock full of extended improvisational solos and giant Southern rock riffs, are stuff of folklore and are responsible for legions of fans following the band around the country.
