Ponte Verucchio can be reached by taking the SS.258 "Marecchiese" road. You then follow the carriageway which starts near the bridge. It runs alongside the River Marecchia and is flanked by occasional houses and small villas. This leads to a small rural village called "Palazzo". Here you can get some water. After another couple of hundred meters, the road changes into a cart track next to a small shrine, before becoming a narrow path which leads up to the bottom of Saiono, a rocky spur. Continuing north, it goes round the north eastern side of the rock, the path comes to the Sanctuary of the Saiano Madonna. You then follow the path back down until you get to an old windmill which is covered with creepers. It is near the river and from there you follow and old mule track which takes you to a farm-house which is used for agritourism. The itinerary then heads north west towards a group of abandoned houses. It continues to climb until it reaches another roadway with another couple of unoccupied houses. There is a windmill's grindstone in the old crossroads which you can use to rest on. From there you go up to Montebello, following the tarmac road through the pine trees or the steep path which takes you straight up to the viewpoint. Here you can try lots of genuine Romagnolo cuisine. It should only take around 45 minutes to get back down. Follow the tarmac road towards Torriana and then when you have passed "I Gessi" village, then take a cart track off to the right which will lead back down to "Palazzo". The whole walk is about 17 kilometers long and takes around four hours. It is a climb of around 380 meters with some inclines some of which can be a little steep.
