A unique preservatory, the Museum of the fortifications in Hlucin is located near the Hlučín city of Czech Republic. This museum houses military fortifications of the 20th century. The museum includes the MO S-18 “Obora”, MO S-19 "Alej" and MO S-20 "Orel" forts. Managed by the Silesian museum, these forts are a local pride and prized tourist attraction.
The regional Muzeum Těšínska is located in the Český Těšín region of the Czech Republic. Inaugurated in the year 1948, the museum is one of the 12 regional branches of the mother institution. The museum is home to artifacts pertaining to local history and traditions. The exhibits showcase the life of the inhabitants of the Cieszyn Silesia region. Check website for more information.
Created in 1802, this museum is the oldest public museum in Poland. It details the history of the region, which has been very vivid - the area has changed hands countless times throughout history. There is also an arts and culture department in the museum, as well as an ethnographical and archeological department.
The Muzeum w Raciborzu has many interesting exhibits that are sure to provide a new insight into the local history and traditions of the area. It contains fossils and artifacts from prehistoric times to present. A few of the exhibits worth mentioning include the number of ancient dentistry equipment- drills, chairs and chemicals that are found here. Another interesting exhibit is an Egyptian mummy that was procured by the ruler of Racibórz for his lady love. An ancient Gothic stove, one of the oldest in the country is also showcased.
