    Oslo City is a bright and airy shopping center. Next to the entrance there are a few fruit and vegetable stalls that sell fresh produce during the summer. The center itself is big enough to envelop your entire day: it has the usual selection and variety of shops as well as several off-the-wall gift shops, which are perfect for souvenir hunters. There are also some good eateries with a laid-back atmosphere. The millions of people who shop here every year choose Oslo City for a reason. After all, who said shopping had to be hard?

    This is one of the most popular and cheapest record stores in the city. They sell the newest pop records, which are topping the charts around the world, for a good deal cheaper than at most other record stores. However, it is not the place to come if you are afraid of masses of people crammed into a few square meters. The store is packed with young people all day, even during working hours. But seriously, it is cheap!

    The Free Record Shop chain has branches on Karl Johans gate, in stbanehallen and in the Steen & Strm department store. The branch on Karl Johan is the biggest one, with a large selection of pop music and also a good deal of jazz, classical and ethnic music. There is plenty of room between the shelves here, so this is perhaps the place for music lovers who do not like to force their way through crowds. There is also a fairly large section with games for PCs, PlayStation and Xbox. The other two branches are mainly devoted to pop music.

    One of several around Oslo, this branch of Japan Photo offers everything connected with the subject of photography. This is a good place for getting films developed as it gives out discount cards which make developing cheaper. The cards last for one year, so you have plenty time to use them. The sales staff are helpful and give good advice if you are about to invest in some expensive equipment. All the extras that go along with photographic film can be bought here - frames and photo albums to name just a couple of things.
