Femöre battery was formerly a facility belonging to the Swedish armed forces that was responsible for protecting the eastern coast of Sweden. It was constructed in 1964 to upgrade Sweden's defense against probable attacks from the Soviets. At present, the site has been adapted as a museum, which has carefully preserved the battery - from the repair workshops to the sleeping quarters. Its tunnel system, which has a length of 450 meters (1476.38 feet), can also be seen here. For information about opening hours and prices for tours, kindly contact the site or visit the website.
A castle full of activity, Sparreholm is an ideal weekend getaway visit for the family with its charming lakeside setting, rich history, interesting museums and even an equestrian center! It is a popular attraction in the summer when the horse training center sees many visitors in dressage for training alongside many well known equestrians. The equine center is available for rent and horse shows are put on here as well. An automobile museum with vintage cars on display is located here, along with a jukebox, bicycle, telephone and trolley museum. The castle and its rooms are leased out on rent for private functions such as weddings, parties and conferences.
