    »Vinny Guadagnino and Friends

    September 17, 2014 7:30 PM

Vinny Guadagnino rose to fame on the reality show The Jersey Shore, which ran for six seasons from 2009-2012 and is the highest rated series in MTV’s history. In 2012, Vinny became a New York Times Bestselling Author when his first book, Control the Crazy: My Plan to Stop Stressing, Avoid Drama, and Maintain Inner Cool was published by Crown. He is now starring in his own MTV program, The Show with Vinny, in which he invites the biggest names in entertainment to his family’s home in Staten Island. The Show is Vinny’s own spin on the traditional talk show format, allowing him to interview celebrities alongside his tight-knit, traditional, and sometimes crazy Italian-American family. Prior to Jersey Shore, Vinny graduated from CUNY College of Staten Island and was a political aide for an NY State Assemblyman. He had planned to attend law school, but Vinny’s professional interests have shifted from the law to entertainment and acting. A natural entertainer, Vinny is particularly interested in comedy and is currently taking classes at theUpright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre. His TV guest star appearances include MTV’s The Hard Times of RJ Berger, The CW’s 90210, and the Syfy original movie Jersey Shore Shark Attack. Vinny is very active on social media and currently has over 3.2 million Twitter followers. He is involved in several organizations dedicated to helping victims of Hurricane Sandy -- particularly in his hometown of Staten Island -- and is a vocal advocate for gay rights, anti-bullying, and providing support for teenagers who struggle with mental health and emotional difficulties. A dog-lover, Vinny is also extremely passionate about animal rights and adopting rescued animals.

    »Antony and Cleopatra

    September 17, 2014 7:30 PM

England's Royal Shakespeare company begins its next season with the tragedy Antony of Cleopatra. Directed by Michael Boyd, this staging of Shakespeare's classic has already been deemed one of the most humorous, fast-paced, and witty versions of the masterpiece yet to hit theatres. Darell D'Silva's take on Antony is a well formed combination of gruffness and genorosity, Kathryn Hunter's Cleopatra is petite with an surprisingly sharp wit, while the backing characters all offer eqaully polished performances.

»Patti Lupone Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda...played That Part

    September 17, 2014 7:30 PM

Born on New York's Long Island, Patti LuPone was raise in a fairly theatrical family. Her great-grand-aunt was a celebrated 19th Century opera singer and her brother is a dancer, singer and director. As kids, her and her brother would put on skits and plays for the other members of her family. These seeds that were planted in young LuPone's mind would lay the foundations for a career centered around acting. After working her way up from acting school, then onto menial roles in minor stage productions, she won a Tony Award in 1979 for her memorable performance of Eva Peron in the play Evita. Shortly thereafter she was crowned with a Laurence Olivier Award for her portrayal of Fantine in the original London cast of Les Miserables. Though she is slightly older than she was when she won these awards, her creative drive hasn't slowed down one bit and she can even be found touring her one woman act, which blends humor with song and dance to create an engaging and highly entertaining performance.
