    As party of their NY Fringe Festival Encore series, the Baruch Performing Arts Center presents Katelin Wilcox's "The Pawnbroker: Lies, Lovers, and Bertolt Brecht". It's the controversial story of the legend of the famed German playwright, and the cost it took the women in his life to create it. Set in the dark days of the rise of Nazism in Germany, "The Pawnbroker" tells the powerful stories of five women who helped Brecht rise to fame, but shared none of the success themselves.

    Rod Picott is a singer/songwriter from New Hampshire who blends various styles of music including Americana, country and folk together into a cohesive sonic tapestry.During his formative years, he developed his songwriting style while busking around and soaking in the niche cultures of cities like South Berwick, Maine and Boulder, Colorado. After moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1994, he spent several years carving a place for himself in the local music scene before entering the studio to record his 2001 debut album, Tiger Tom Dixon's Blues.

    The mission of the Gotham Comedy Foundation (GCF) is to bring humor to those who need it, one laugh at a time! ​ GCF uses the art of humor and laughter in conjunction with the programs of its community partners and grantees to address the social and health issues that impact the economy of the City of New York. GCF will accomplish its objectives through: ​ The development of humor therapy programs for patients in New York City hospitals and hospices. ​ The development of humor therapy programs for the consumers of New York City social work agencies and senior citizen centers. ​ The providing of scholarships to students of the public schools of the City of New York, to attend workshops in stand up comedy, stage production, entertainment business management, design, and creative comedy writing. ​ The giving of grants to those nonprofit organizations which share GCFs mission of creating wellness programs.
