»James Maddock

January 30, 2015 7:00 PM

James Maddock was originally lumped in with John Mayer, David Gray and the rest of the crop of acoustic singer/songwriters that popped up in the early 2000s. His mellow approach and sensitive, confessional lyrics seemed poised to strike a chord with folk pop listeners, and sure enough, he soon found himself contributing songs to popular television shows and touring all over the world with Paula Cole and Train. Rather quickly, however, mainstream interest in Maddock's career died down without it ever really reaching the level that had earlier seemed imminent. Regardless, he's carried on and continues to release albums full of tender ballads and delicately arranged modern folk that have helped him find a recent resurgence of followers.
