Nick Sanders was raised in New Orleans and graduated in 2006 from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) While an undergrad at the New England Conservatory of Music, Nick was under the tutelage of Panamanian Grammy winner Danilo Perez and pianist Fred Hersch. Nick also won the Eubie Blake International Piano Scholarship two years straight. The Nick Sanders Trio is a fantastic combination of modern and classical-inspired original jazz compositions driven by an audacious piano and reinforced by a consistent drums bass.

Celebrated since 1935, this annual event offers to anyone interested (or just a little curious), the opportunity to see the insides of the oldest and loveliest homes in the South. Hostesses in antebellum dresses escort groups through private homes and provide historical information about each stately residence, including when they were built, who lived in them, and what action they may have seen. Other activities include balcony concerts in the French Quarter, a parade, and tours of plantation homes on River Road.

»Red Hot Nola Feat The Hot 8 Brass Band

When the New Orleans-based group Hot 8 Brass Band formed in 1995, the ensemble was initially confined to performances during second line parades, traditional jazz funerals and jazz night clubs. After the tragedy that was Hurricane Katrina befell The Big Easy, the band received international attention after it appeared in Spike Lee's documentary on the aftermath and governmental follow-up to the hurricane. Hot 8 Brass Band also performed several times on National Public Radio, which helped establish the group as one of the premier New Orleans marching band acts that's able to blend elements of hip-hop, funk and blues into its characteristic jazz sound.
