The two carried on a lifelong friendship that would last until Cline'sunfortunate death in a plane crash in 1963. The Sacramento Kings are a professional basketball team and a member of the National Basketball Association. The Kings had a long journey before they settled in Sacramento in 1985. The franchise was originally created in 1945 as the Rochester Royals of the National Basketball League. In 1948 the Royals moved over to the Basketball Association of America. The next year the Royals joined the NBA as part of the NBA-BBA merger. The team relocated to Cincinnati in 1957 where they played for 15 seasons before moving to Kansas City in 1972. The Kings currently compete in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference.

When the New Orleans-based group Hot 8 Brass Band formed in 1995, the ensemble was initially confined to performances during second line parades, traditional jazz funerals and jazz night clubs. After the tragedy that was Hurricane Katrina befell The Big Easy, the band received international attention after it appeared in Spike Lee's documentary on the aftermath and governmental follow-up to the hurricane. Hot 8 Brass Band also performed several times on National Public Radio, which helped establish the group as one of the premier New Orleans marching band acts that's able to blend elements of hip-hop, funk and blues into its characteristic jazz sound.
