After your travel within the city, find a shaded spot close to the pond at the Central Park in Joondalup and relax. This well-maintained green oasis is located at just a short walk from the Joondalup train station, and allows you to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Although the park lacks facilities for the kids, it serves as a great picnic spot for families. The city's largest cultural festival, called the Joondalup Festival is held at the park every year, inviting a number of national and international artists and performers.
Step back in time when you visit this old family home. Built in 1860, this beautifully restored residence is the oldest surviving home in Wanneroo. Set in delightful grounds, the limestone house contains five bedrooms and a wooden extension. Cockman House is an excellent example of early pioneer life.
This 36-hole mini golf course is set amidst five acres of picturesque gardens. The botanical gardens, a feature of the golf course, are some of the most magnificent to be found in Perth with rolling lawns, waterfalls, rockeries, ornamental ponds and exotic plants. Leapfrogs Cafe, an alfresco style cafe, provides a great place to unwind. The cafe caters lunch, morning and afternoon tea, and dinner with perhaps the best wood-fired pizzas in Perth! Enjoy a day walking, cycling or picnicking at a group of ancient lakes in the northern outskirts of Perth. The most popular is Lake Joondalup with bush walking around its perimeter and a series of cycle ways that wind through native bush. There are plenty of opportunities to observe an abundance of wildlife and migratory birds. Other sites in the area to visit include Lakes Goollelal and Walluburnup as well as Beenyup Swamps.

This church, Saint Nektarios Greek Orthodox Parish, is named after the well-known 19th century Saint Nektarios, the Wonderworker of Aegina. Nektarios of Aegina is one of the most famous Greek Orthodox Saints. Many Greeks regarded Nektarios as a saint whilst he was still alive, because of his pious lifestyle, his many virtues, the wisdom of his written words and the miracles he performed. Swim, sun-bake and saunter along one of Perth's busiest beaches. City Beach is only a 15-minute drive from central Perth, thus is popular with inner city dwellers. This is an unspoiled stretch of beach protected by sand dunes and a buffer zone park that separate it from the West Coast Highway and residential areas. The Coastal Walk and Cycle Way start here and run all the way north to Hillarys Boat Harbour. In addition, the Scenic Coastal Route begins here and follows the coast north. Amenities include picnic areas, toilets and showers.
Encounter birds and other native fauna while walking through the vibrant Herdsman Lake Wildlife Centre. The wildlife center is the main building in the park and has a wonderful mezzanine viewing level with binoculars. Opportunities abound to spot a variety of native and exotic birds. The center also has a series of aquariums with a range of reptiles and other creepy crawlies plus an excellent educational natural history section. This park has some fantastic walkways and there are some superb picnic spots.
Perth Hebrew Congregation is a center for the Jewish orthodox community in Perth. This Synagogue also features a bookshop and gift shop. The Ruth Landau Harp Childcare Center is attached to the synagogue, plus a library and the Perth Mikveh and Kosher Food Center.
