    Cats
Fountain Hills Theater MainstageAugust 31, 2014 2:00 PM

    Fountain Hills, AZ 85268
As much a cultural phenomenon as a theatrical event, "Cats" enjoyed a record-breaking run on Broadway and in London, thanks to its signature sets, costumes, dancing and memorable songs by famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The story, inspired by a collection of poetry from T.S. Eliot, revolves around a tribe known as the Jellicle cats, and their leader Old Deuteronomy, who will choose one of their group to be reborn that night after their annual ball. The second-longest-running Broadway musical in history, "Cats" features 20 of Webber's timeless melodies, including the hit song "Memory," and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score.

Ed Sheeran is a mixed-genre singer/songwriter from Halifax, United Kingdom whose fascinating mash-up of grime and acoustic folk has many scratching their heads in bemused wonder as they run out to buy tickets to his next concert. In the year 2009 alone, Ed Sheeran performed at over 300 gigs, a feat that only increased the songwriter's already tremendous success as a musically progressive force since emerging in 2005. Following Sheeran's second independent EP release, Loose Change in 2010, word about the particularly talented young singer/songwriter had already made its way across the Atlantic, and his excellent reputation was almost immediately ensured amongst indie connoisseurs throughout the United States. Since being picked up by the renowned label Atlantic Records in 2011, Ed Sheeran's take on acoustic grime is about to take his success to a whole new level.
