The River Mulcair rises in Tipperary and flows north-west into the River Shannon at Annacotty Weir. Fishing here spans over 20 miles of water. These waters are fished for grilse with salmon availability peaking in April. Salmon season starts March 1st and ends September 30th. Fishing is prohibited downriver from the Mull Weir at Ballyclough from the 31st of May. Fishing permits can be obtained from the E.S.B. shop at Bishop's Quay in Limerick.
