Montagna Spaccata (Galatone-Sannicola)
Litoranea che Collega Santa Maria al Bagno a Lido Conchiglie
The beauty of this headland has become a symbol of Salento. Nearby there is a lovely wood, one of the last left in the area, where typical Mediterranean maquis
of all species can be found. Some only exist in Salento while others can be seen in other parts of Italy like Matera, or even in the Balkans which has suggested that at one time the two lands were joined. Another feature is the ruin of a 17th-century building now called the 'Four Columns' and once known as the 'River Tower.' It was a fort that stands near a freshwater spring.
