Marcelita's Mexican Restaurant is an award-winning Hudson tradition, having been open since 1978. Its menu aims for authentic Mexican food instead of the more common American Tex-Mex, which to Marcelita's means "flavors rather than hotness." Marcelita's offers the usual combination plates, enchiladas, nachos, burritos, and tacos. There are also several dinner specials, such as Veggie Fajitas with squash, zucchini, yams, broccoli, peppers and onions, or Pollo con Frijoles Negros, a chicken breast black bean stew. Downtown 140 is an upscale American restaurant in Hudson, just south of Cleveland. The restaurant's décor is simple and elegant, with golden and brown woods mixed with black. The menu is divided into “smallest,” “small,” and "not-so-small" plates. Small plates are tapas-style, such as Artisan Cheeses or Kobe Beef Short Rib Dumplings. Small plates are appetizers such as Cheese Fondue or salads like Baby Beet or Warm Spinach. The not-so-small plates tend to be meat-based entrées like Prosciutto Wrapped Grouper or Beef Filet. Blue Canyon Kitchen and Tavern is located in a picturesque lodge in Twinsburg, Ohio, just southeast of Cleveland. They've decorated the lodge in a rustic, comfortable fashion, and the menu includes many American comfort food staples, such as Bacon Mac and Cheese or Short Rib. The menu also includes several steak options, and even a daily "wild game" special, along with entrée salads, pizzas, and pasta dishes. There are a handful of vegetarian options, such as a Tomato, Pesto and Goat Cheese pizza. Blue Canyon is also open for Sunday brunch, and has a full bar with some food available later at night.
Austin's Wood Fire Grille offers Texas-style cooking, particularly steaks and burgers. The restaurant elegantly features rustic brick coloration, and even includes a fireplace near some of its seats. There are also salads available, which are the best option for vegetarians. Entrées include seafood such as Lobster Bolognese or Panko Crusted Grouper, and red meat like Spring Lamb or Filet Mignon. The Leopard also offers a "Chef's Table" located in its kitchen, where the chef personally prepares a several-course meal for a small number of guests. Open since the 1950s, the Diamond Grille is Akron's oldest steakhouse. Behind a subtle, unassuming exterior in downtown Akron, the décor reflects the classic 50s steakhouse look. The menu is traditional steak-and-seafood fare, but oriented towards specialized steaks, with filets, strip steaks, and more. Appetizers include traditional steakhouse fare such as sumptuous shrimp cocktails. The Diamond Grille is also a good place to people-watch when the PGA Tour is in Akron, as the pro-golfers often eat there. The Diamond Grille also features a full bar. There are traditional steaks such as the Peppercorn Filet or New York Strip, but there's also a contemporary-flavored Grilled Flank Steak with wasabi, ginger and soy sauce. Seafood options include Macadamian Nut Crusted Ahi Tuna or Sun-Dreid Tomato Crusted Grouper, while vegetarians have a few options, such as Penne pasta or a Seasonal Grilled Vegetable Platter. LockKeepers is an upscale American-Italian restaurant located in scenic Valley View, just south of Cleveland, along the Cuyahoga river. From the outside, LockKeepers looks like a rustic country inn, though that belies the elegant wood-paneled décor inside. LockKeepers also has an extensive wine list and is known for employing the rare Master Sommelier to guide diners through the wine list. The cuisine at LockKeepers is upscale American with an Italian flair. Pasta dishes include a four-cheese Lasagna and Spaghetti Bolognese with beef and pork. Specialty entrées include Center Cut Filet Mignon, Scaloppini with veal or chicken, or Seared Yellowfin Tuna.
