Sherman Street National Historic District is lined with four 18th and 19th-century mansions known for the eminent personalities associated with them and the distinct architectural style of these houses. Admission to these houses is not permitted to the public.
Built in 1927 in a Late Gothic Revival style, the German Evangelical Immanuel Congregational Church stands majestically on the Everett Street. Also known as the Immanuel Congregational Church, it was designed by Walter Simon and Frank Kenney. The pointed curved windows, intricate design, square tower, and masonry work are the unique features of this beautiful church. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
