The East Marion Park is an outdoor recreation complex for the entire family to enjoy. The park features plenty of fun activities for everyone to enjoy like a 32 acre (12.9 hectare) waterpark with slides and a wave pool. Also within the park is a 3 acre (1.2 hectare) park which is canine friendly.
Incorporating an area of 112 acres (45.3 hectares), Morris Park offers a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city with tranquil woods, walking trails and outdoor pavilions. Enjoy recreational activities like tennis, disc golf and basketball within the park. Challenge yourself to a game of disc golf at the Orange Crush course. The Celebration of Lights West Virginia festival takes place here.
Enjoy a quiet walk along the Monongahela River's East Bank in downtown Fairmont at the Riverside Park. The park provides a good access point for other recreational activities like water sports and boating. The park features a splash park for the kids to enjoy, as well as the Home of Arts and a ramp with a dock.
The St Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church is a historic church in Fairmont, WV. The church can date its history as far back as 150 years, and the beautiful church building is a local landmark. Sunday Mass is held at 8.30a and 10.30a.
The Historic Woodlawn Cemetery dates back to the late 19th century with the burial of Joseph Hamilton, who was found shot on what was then Hamilton Hill. He was buried right there and it was the beginning of the cemetery, which now houses over 11,000 graves. Visit the WV. Heston Farm which houses the Pinchgut Hollow Distillery. The distillery is best known for the fine buckwheat whiskey it produces. As the only producer in the U.S.A., it offers a unique opportunity to learn more about the process as well as sample some of their finest products. Tours are available by appointment, the farm features fun activities from tastings to live music and food tasting.
Heston Farm in Fairmont is a picturesque winery which also doubles up as a lovely wedding venue. The winery also offers wine tasting tours while the on-site restaurant serves mouth-watering traditional French fare.
Valley Worlds of Fun is a fun-filled amusement park offering several thrill rides as well as rides for kids. The park also features carnival games, a separate kids' fun section and a bowling alley.

Nestled on the banks of the scenic Tygart Valley River, Valley Falls State Park is situated nearly 7 miles (11.27 kilometers) from Fairmont. The park is home to a scenic waterfall while the river remains a popular site for kayaking.
