The Washington Wizards are a professional basketball team and a member of the National Basketball Association. The Wizards were originally formed as the Chicago Packers in 1961 and were the first expansion team in the NBA. The franchise has had several homes and team names. After playing in Chicago, the team moved to Baltimore before finally settling in Washington D.C. in 1973. The Packers team name was later changed to the Zephyrs, then to the Bullets, and eventually to the Wizards in 1997. The Wizards currently compete in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference.

»Networking At Phillies April 22nd

February 27, 2015 1:00 PM

Networking at its best.     First, join us from 5-7pm in the Linc parking lot, across from Mcfaddens at the ballpark.  Network with other business people from the area, food and drink included. Then at 7pm we all walk across the street and watch the Phillies take on the Miami Marlins, while we continue to network inside.  An upper level ticket to the game is included.     This is our fifth year, we meet some great people and build longer lasting relationships while enjoy America's favorite past time. Our events average between 40 to 80 people per game. Meet many new business leads and contacts, all in the relaxed atmosphere of Citizens Bank Park.   Tickets are just $25 each and include networking, hot dogs & chips, beer and water, and an upper level ticket to the game.   Or just join us for the outside networking with food & drink from 5-7pm for just $15 a person.   And, you can make this a family event and bring along the kids too...     Once you sign up, we'll send you the complete details on where we meet (always the same spot, if youve attended before)   For more details or questions contact: Todd Hesbacher 215-778-2076

»Charlie Hunter and Scott Amendola

February 27, 2015 8:00 PM

Charlie Hunter knows a thing or two about the guitar. As a matter of fact, he's had guitars custom made with 8 strings just so he could play the bass lines, rhythm and solo all at once. Since the early 1990s, Charlie Hunter and his Trio have been amazing audiences with his distinct jazz fusion sound and guitar virtuosity.

Pile is a stoner rock band from Boston that crafts a sleepy, post-grunge sound. With moments of off-kilter energy sewn throughout its songs, the group first captured its distinctive style on the 2009 album Jerk Routine. Mastering the balance between the past and present of alternative rock, punk and post punk, post-hardcore and indie, Pile captured a massive following that has grown with each of its subsequent LPs, such as 2012's Drippings.

»Hold These Truths

February 27, 2015 8:00 PM

A little-known American hero steps into the spotlight in playwright Jeanne Sakata's eloquent one-man show, "Hold These Truths". The titular "truths" in question are the civil rights proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence and later enshrined in the Constitution. The man doing the holding, despite enormous pressures from his own government, is one Gordon Hirabayashi. When the government decides to mass incarcerate all people of Japanese ancestry on the West Coast, it is Hirabayashi -- a Quaker college student and conscientious objector -- who decides to fight for the rights of "all" Americans. Join him on his journey toward a greater understanding of America's triumphs and failings when Makoto Hirano stars in this Plays & Players production, giving voice to more than 30 different characters in the regional premiere of "Hold These Truths".
