Celebrated as one of the funniest musicals to grace Broadway in recent years, The Book of Mormon is a religious satire musical written by the Trey Park and Matt Stone, the creators of the famed animated South Park television series (1997-). The story follows two mismatched Mormon missionaries as they haphazardly attempt to bring Mormonism to the tribal peoples of Uganda, with hilarious and often enlightening results. The musical opened in 2011 and almost immediately gained the acclaim of critics and audiences who felt that The Book of Mormon achieves the trifecta of great music, plot and choreography that is found in all Broadway classics.

Born to Bend is the first exhibit from the PAFA's Sculpture Plinth Exhibition Program. This program embraces modern art, which in this case is very visual and flashy. One of the artists in the exhibit, Brian Donnelly, better known as KAWS, is an American artist who creates pop-art sculptures. His 42-inch-high, painted aluminum sculpture is featured on the front plinth of the museum.

Walnut Street Theatre's 9 To 5: The Musical
    Walnut Street TheatreSeptember 03, 2014 8:00 PM
    825 Walnut Street
    Philadelphia, PA 19107
Based on the smash-hit 1980 movie of the same name, 9 to 5 opened on Broadway in 2009 for a whole new generation of audiences looking to relive the film on stage. The story follows the lives of three working women who wage a war against the often chauvinistic and sexist company management they work for. The music and lyrics were composed by the original diva of country music herself, Dolly Parton, who manages to deftly capture the spirit of the film in this brand new musical production that has already garnered several Tony Award nominations.
