    2936 North Southport Avenue
    Chicago, IL 60657
"The Clean House" is a witty and wry romantic comedy about Matilde, a Brazilian-born live-in maid who'd rather be telling jokes than cleaning houses. Her employer, Lane, seems to have it all: a successful surgeon husband and her own busy career as a doctor. But does she? "The New York Times" has called playwright Sara Ruhl "a provocative new theatrical voice" and "The Clean House" "visionary." Directed at Athenaeum Theatre by Luda Solomon, this acclaimed play won the 2004 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2005.

    2936 North Southport Avenue
    Chicago, IL 60614
"Take Me Out" is the Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning drama about Darren Lemming, the handsome and talented star center fielder for the New York Empires who matter-of-factly -- and casually -- announces he's gay. The response from his friends, teammates and fans seems totally out of left field, and their ambivalence even turns to violence in some cases. But Lemming's declaration emboldens his closeted business manager to come to terms with his own sexuality as he blooms in the ecstatic discovery of baseball. A Pulitzer Prize finalist and winner of the Tony for Best Play in 2003, this topical and timely drama examines themes of homophobia, masculinity, class and racism.
