She began performing stand-up shortly after and quickly rose to recognition with appearances on various late-night shows, most notably on Chelsea Lately as a round table correspondent. In 2011, she earned two of her own television sitcoms, 2 Broke Girls and Whitney, and the the following year her talk show, Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings was picked up by E!, though it was canceled after one season.
