    Established on 21st May 1964, the Elk County Historical Society is housed inside a wonderful Victorian house which still contains original Victorian furniture. Those wanting to research the history of the region can do so in the well-stocked genealogy research room or even pick up valuable material from the resident bookstore.     The Clearfield County Historical Society Museum is open from the first Sunday in May through the last Sunday in October. Visitors can view displays of artifacts of early inhabitants, military memorabilia, period furnishings, and photos, among others. The library features several sources for genealogists. While outside, be sure to visit the cabin and carriage house.
