»Auberge de la Crochettaz (Epesses)

Situated on Route de la Corniche, between Epesses and Chexbres, this restaurant in the middle of the vineyards boasts a fantastic view over Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) and the Alps, whether you choose to sit in the dining room or on the particularly pleasant terrace. This inn specializes in fish dishes, with various menus available depending on the season and catch of the day, and always accompanied by delicious local wines. The Inn of Crochettaz also has a wine tasting center (from the Lavaux region), together with rooms for those who might have sampled a few too many, or who may simply want to sleep in a magnificent setting.

»Guillaume Tell

This gastronomic restaurant is situated in the charming village of Aran, up from Villette, a few minutes drive from Lausanne. This village in the middle of the vineyards overlooks Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). It's a great shame that this view cannot be enjoyed from the restaurant itself but it does nonetheless offer an inventive, original and good quality cuisine, which makes the detour well worthwhile.

»Restaurant du Leman

This little brasserie in the center of Lutry, a small lakeside district of Lausanne, is renowned for its real Bacchus fondue. Other local dishes are also served, but the Bacchus is the most popular one at the Restaurant du Leman. Located within five minutes of the waterfront, this restaurant is quite a favorite, especially in the summer months. Nonetheless, in winter it remains a very cozy dwelling, which is usually full of locals, who themselves are full of cheer and wine! A very interesting Vaudois experience.

»Restaurant des Alpes

This restaurant is located in the north of Lausanne in a small agricultural village named Savigny. Inside there are two different eating areas, one of which is more of a café and the more of a brasserie. The general impression is comfortable and rustic, offering lots of wood in the decor and tradition. There is also the possibility of holding seminars and conferences in the upper rooms. The food on offer is largely traditional and rather good. The service is friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is pleasant.

»Auberge de Lavaux

Perched on a hill, high above Lutry, this small restaurant has a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains thanks to its panoramic dining room. The smoked glass gives an air of sophisticated elegance from the exterior, while from the interior it provides privacy. The food merits great accolades, which is more than we can say for the price equals very expensive. The dining room itself is relatively small, and the service is discreet and efficient. The wine list is excellent.

»Ho Wan

Located just outside Lausanne, this is a modern gastronomic restaurant with a touch of class. The restaurant serves specialties from Peking and Canton in an intimate and refined atmosphere. The decor is Chinese and blue - very blue. There is a bar, which is surrounded by two sitting areas. The dress code is smart casual, and it is recommended you wear a jacket and shirt for gentlemen and a long skirt or trousers for women. Good place to enjoy a traditional Chinese meal, in style, with a cup of warm tea.

»Grotto du Léman

This Italian eatery is more of a pizzeria than an Italian restaurant. Located just outside of Lausanne, in Pully, go to this restaurant for Pugliese Italian specialties. Okay, so go for the pizza! The ceilings are low and the furnishings are all made of wood which adds to the general atmosphere. A nice place to enjoy a meal as a family or even after a day at work. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but the pizza makes it all worthwhile.

»Jardin Gourmand

Located in the 'Les Chevreuils' hostelry, Jardin Gourmand restaurant is very popular amongst the locals and the visitors to the hotel. While on the ground floor of the hotel, with access to the gardens in summer, this restaurant has a stunning view over the lake and the mountains. The decor is traditional, simple and tasteful and so is the food. The fine cuisine is recommended by many locals and is regarded as one of the best restaurants in the area. The food is largely Swiss or French based and will most certainly warm your hearts and your appetite.

Park N' Hear is another way to describe this jazz and café venue because it is located five meters from the Mon-Repos parking lot. »Restaurant Asie-Pacifique

Located north of Lausanne's shopping district, this little restaurant is an ideal place to stop for lunch. Although Restaurant Asie Pacifique's decor remains more Swiss than Asian, with a couple of Asian decorations as reminders, the food is very good. The culinary origins include Thailand, China and Vietnam. At lunchtime the dishes of the day are presented to the client, buffet style, and you get to choose. The staff is friendly and the food reasonable.

»Java

Use this restaurant to impress someone special. Since this building is situated near the bustling nightlife area, the clients who come here are young. During the day it is perfect for a relaxed lunch (plat du jour during the week) or a coffee break. However, this place comes into its own element in the evening. The menu is selective, but well balanced. You might try the 'Onglet de Boeuf' or one of its delicious salads. Remember to book ahead and if you like to  watch people, the upstair tables have better vantage point. The decor of this restaurant is trendy and warm. Offering selective wine, the bar here stocks some really good liquor. For further details, please check the website.

»Da Carlo

One of Lausanne's most popular restaurants, this Italian eatery has lots of character, charm and most importantly, a friendly staff. The place gets busy, although there is no need to book for a family of four or less. Choose to dine indoors or out on the large street terrace, another reason for the restaurant's popularity. The menu consists of all main Italian dishes, and is reasonably priced, in comparison to the quality of the food.
