»The Sound Of Music

April 02, 2015 7:30 PM

Set in Austria in the late 1930s, The Sound of Music is based on the memoirs of Maria Von Trapp, a nun who later worked as a governess. In this well-known musical, Maria goes to work for Captain Von Trapp, an authoritarian father of seven. After Maria spends some time with the children, she brings music into their lives and the atmosphere within their home begins to change. With popular songs such as "The Sound of Music," "Do-Re-Mi" and "My Favorite Things," The Sound of Music is a theatrical classic and one of Broadway's most beloved productions.

»We, Like You W/ Sir Norman Jay Mbe

April 02, 2015 10:00 PM

After his massive February show - legendary British DJ Norman Jay is back at Jamm for another night of genre defining hits.
Since the 80's Jay has been rocking the warehouse scene with Shake 'n' Fingerpop, before establishing himself as a regular on Kiss FM and the BBC through his involvement with Giles Peterson's Talkin' Loud label. In 2002, Jay's championing of underground music earned him the honour of being bestowed a MBE. Knowing that, you should be getting your tickets quick. There are not many DJs out there that are 'MBE' good.

Renowned hip hop turntablist Jimmy Needles will be spinning some rave grooves on the night with his own unique fusion of funk, breaks, soul, jungle, and reggae. Best known for his genre-spanning party mixtapes Needles has headlined festival stages all over the world, and found his records as a staple in the collection of every decent DJ. And what Jay show would be complete without the appearance of Prince Fatty for some classic reggae, dub, and ska. With his modern takes on old skool classics, Fatty cuts a popular figure on the live circuit, and like Jimmy Needles and Norman Jay he always brings something a little different to each show. We're lucky enough to announce that Prince Fatty will also be playing alongside his frequent musical compatriot, the highly revered Horseman. And if there wasn't enough funk and soul, Jamm favourite Sir Funk has been roped in to spin some serious grooves. He's always on the funkhunt and happy to oblige with music lovers with a barrage of quality tunes.
