Located inside the property of the Hacienda San Lucas, Los Sapos is very interesting to visit. The place was where the Mayan women gave birth to their children. What remains today are some stones with carvings and relics with a fertility symbol resembling a toad, thus giving the place its name. If ancient civilization and history intrigue you, Los Sapos is a must visit.
Dating back to the Mayan civilization, the site of Copán is one of the most important archaeological sites in the country. The extensive ruins uncovered during excavations bear testimony to a prosperous Mayan city, with detailed planning and beautiful architecture. Findings from the site date the city to be as old as the 5th Century CE. The beautiful temple ruins with their intricate sculptures are some of the primary surviving sights within the ruin. Other sights of interest include the Acropolis, the Ball Court as well as the Great Plaza.
Cafe Welchez is one of the most popular coffee plantations in the beautiful city of Copan. Here they blend their coffees from high quality Arabica beans which are rich in flavor and body. The great part about the Cafe Welchez is that you can taste the produce here. For further information about the Cafe Welchez, do visit their website.
