Nashville is well-known among Indiana's art circles for the Brown County Art Colony which was established in 1907 when artists started to arrive here and live together. Founded in 1836 by the settler Banner Brummet, this city was initially called Jacksonburg until it was finally incorporated in 1872. This touristy place attracts visitors for its cultural events, nightlife, lush forest cover, state parks, lakes, nature trails and galleries. Bed & breakfasts welcome tourists who're enchanted by the old-world charm of Nashville and its friendly folks.
