Post American Revolution, a group of Columbians felt the need to establish a parish and hence, the Episcopal parish was built. In 1847, it was consecrated and Edward Brickell White was commissioned to design a newer edifice. Visitors can explore various fixtures within the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral that include baptismal font, Carrara altar and marble tablets inscribed with religious texts. Notable personalities buried in the churchyard include General Wade Hampton, General Peter Horry and Dr. Thomas Cooper. Apart from religious services, it also hosts community events, workshops and charity functions on a regular basis.
