Ashvita was set up in 2002 in Chennai's bustling Mylapore neighborhood by the US-educated entrepreneur and art enthusiast Ashvin Rajagopalan (which also explains the name Ashvita). Located inside a pretty, heritage building, this center opened its resident cafe in 2003 in its quiet garden area; a place where art-lovers could meet and dig into delicacies like fudge brownies, pastas, pickles, cheese and sandwiches.
