Divadlo Continuo is an independent professional theater group from Prague which works 50 miles away in the village of Malovice, where it has been operating since 1995. The State Castle Cesky Krumlov is the second largest castle in the Czech Republic. Construction of the castle began in the 14th Century. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Castle features gardens and a Baroque theater, which is only used three times a year so as to maintain its state of preservation. The gardens also are home to the Revolving Theatre.
The Revolving Theatre started as a venue for experimental performances in the 1950's and has since turned into a wonderful Cesky Krumlov tradition. As the name implies, this round theater revolves on 120 wheels, making it a truly unique theater venue.
The town of Bechyne lies more than 70 miles south of the Czech capital, Prague. From the early '50s the Letiste Bechyne has served as a base for the airforce of the country. It has been defunct since the 1993, and is now used as a venue for various purposes. Major events like Eurogames take place here, along with concerts and performances.
Perched atop a hill and surrounded by dense forests, the medieval castle fortress of Helfenburk is shrouded in myths, legends and fantasies along with a rich and tumultuous background. Built in the 14th Century, it was inhabited by nobles and knights until the 17th Century when it was abandoned and later occupied by hermits and the homeless. It was only in the 20th Century, that the local council took efforts to restore it and turn it into a popular tourist attraction and cultural center. Apart from entertaining visitors, it also hosts cultural events, exhibitions, festivals and historical re-enactments of the medieval ages.
