The Bodø Domkirke (Bodø Cathedral) was built in 1956 at a site of the former church that was bombed by the Nazis during the World War II. This characteristic concrete structure comprises of some elegant features such as the basilica with five naves and a freestanding clock tower that were designed by award winning architects Gudolf Blakstad and Herman Munthe-Kaas. Today, the structure is considered to be a the most recognized heritage post the World War II and a memorial for those perished in it.
