The Bodø Domkirke (Bodø Cathedral) was built in 1956 at a site of the former church that was bombed by the Nazis during the World War II. This characteristic concrete structure comprises of some elegant features such as the basilica with five naves and a freestanding clock tower that were designed by award winning architects Gudolf Blakstad and Herman Munthe-Kaas. Today, the structure is considered to be a the most recognized heritage post the World War II and a memorial for those perished in it.
This large park is located in the central-northern area of the town of Bodo (Bodø). A great place for a relaxing respite, large events such as Parken Festival are held here as well.
The Bodin Kirke is a stone built religious edifice that features an onion shaped domed. Its interiors are accentuated by the impressive stone altarpiece, wooden sculptures and evangelical paintings.
Saltstraumen is the strongest maelstrom in the world. Every six hours you can see the natural wonder of Saltstraumen, when up to 400 million tons of seawater forces its way through a 3-km-long and 150-m-wide strait. You will be amazed by the power and wildness that the maelstrom produces.
