Arts & Museums
The life of Yuma is well displayed in this museum of Arizona Historical Society through a vast range of exhibits. The visit to Sanguinetti House Museum will be quite informative if you are interested in the history of the locality.
The Yuma Art Center is an incubating center for talents in performing arts. If you are an art aficionado then keep a track of their calender for events coming up in the near future.
General George C. Patton made history on another desert far away in North Africa, but he trained his troops for battle right here at Camp Young. Now, an adjacent museum recognizes his contribution and the effect of the war on the Palm Springs region. The museum is located about thirty miles past Indio at Chiriaco Summit. Special events are held regularly, especially on Veteran's Day and other key dates. There's a coffee shop and a small functioning airfield. Only cash is accepted.
