Dedicated to Norway's ancient King St. Olav, Bergen Domkirke, or Bergen Cathedral, has remained loyal to its dedication since 1181 AD. According to the Sverre Saga, King Sverre and his army utilized the cathedral as a refuge when they were attacked nearly 900 years ago.
The church has survived numerous fires and battles through the years, but it has maintained its general appearance and authenticity - most notably its main tower that still shows the cannon ball strike. Check out the church to see a true artifact of Norwegian history.
