Ambergate is a small village in that is located close to where the two rivers Amber and Derwent meet. Known as the Cromford Bridge originally, the Cromford Railway Station is an unstaffed station that was opened in 1849. The station is owned by the Network Rail and is taken care of by the East Midlands Trains. The journey of the trains that pass by, operate between Nottingham and Matlock, going via Derby. As the train station doesn't have any staff, the tickets for the journey can be bought from a guard on the train.
