The Minas Gerais Administrative Center is the headquarters of the state government, and is one of the last and most daring works of Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. Built between 2007 and 2010, the Center is a contemporary technological complex made up of six buildings. The main one is Tiradentes Palace, the State Governor's office. Described by Niemeyer as 'the greatest achievement in reinforced concrete,' this impressive structure is raised above the ground and suspended over a freestanding space. Adjacent to the Palace stands the Juscelino Kubitscheck Auditorium, a state-of-the-art venue for public events.
