Taza Lebanese Grill was opened as a slightly more upscale version of the popular Aladdin's Eatery chain in the Cleveland area. It has kept the popularity, even winning Cleveland Magazine's Silver Spoon Award for "Best Middle Eastern" in 2008. The most notable parts of the restaurant layout are the outdoor patio and the wood-burning grill in view of the diners. Taza offers complimentary savory pita bread to start the meal. The shish grill cooks up both lunches and dinners, at different prices. The dinner entrées include Samakeh Harra, Tajin, or Seana—cod, salmon, or tuna, respectively. Carnivores can enjoy the Shawarma Plate of grilled beef with veggies in tahini sauce, and vegetarians can try the Mujadara, a plate of lentils and rice topped with Salata and onions. Nuevo Latino food is a fusion of Latin American cuisine with American and European influences. The Paladar Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar opened in 2007 to great fanfare and has been a busy hub of Nuevo Latino fare ever since. Their menu includes traditional Latin American food—called "Latin Comfort Food"—as well as seafood and steaks. Vegetarians may have a difficult time at dinner, except for the Panko Crusted Vegetable Relleno, but the lunch menu includes several salads and other veggie options. There is also a rum bar with a happy hour between 3p-7p, and a variety of appetizers and desserts from which to choose.
Fleming's at Woodmere is an elegant chain of this upscale steakhouse known for their USDA Prime Beef, steakhouse delicacies and award winning 'Fleming's 100' showcasing 100 wines by the glass for USD10 or less. It is the best place if you are yearning for a scrumptious steak and a glass of delicious wine. The dining room has an open kitchen and a huge bar. It has an inviting ambience with its high ceilings and customized alabaster chandeliers. Fleming's also serves chops, seafood, poultry and distinct side dishes such as chipotle cheddar macaroni and cheese, truffle and Parmesan peppercorn butter, Fleming's potatoes made with cream, jalapenos and cheddar or the house specialty. Flour - Rustic Italian Kitchen is a trendy restaurant serving rustic, artisanal, Italian cuisine in Moreland Hills. The restaurant serves their own house-cured meats, hand-crafted cheeses, pastas, wood fired pizzas and more. The seasonal menu highlights the fresh and local produces at their peak giving a distinct flavor to their food. Their full service bar has a nice happy hour as well. Cin Cin!
Melt Bar & Grilled in Lakewood initially looks like a corner bar, but inside is a unique, diverse beer bar and grilled cheese sandwich restaurant. The beer list includes twenty different drafts on tap as well as weekly specials. Melt even includes a beer guide to describe which beers go with which foods. The menu comes printed on old LPs, and includes a wide variety of grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Some of the featured grilled cheese sandwiches include chorizo and potato, the tuna melt with ginger wasabi, and the grilled peanut butter with banana.
This venue was founded in 1979 and has expanded to become the Southwestern Food Club. In warm weather, their patio offers the most enticing seats. They are very accommodating to vegetarian patrons. The menu includes Lobster Enchiladas, Mezcal Chicken, and Mushroom-Goat Cheese Quesadilla. They also feature tequila tastings and margarita specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays. - Marjorie Jensen
The BottleHouse is a brewery and bar that offers a rotating selection of in-house meads like the Hopped Grapefruit and beers like the Livin' Easy IPA, alongside cocktails and wine. The bar sports a young, lively and casual vibe with pin-ball machines, picnic tables and a stage for live performances. Although modest, the food menu offers a variety of sandwiches, cheese boards and other light snacks that perfectly complement the beer. A welcoming and cheerful bar, the BottleHouse is a great place to hang out with a group of friends and sample some distinctive brew.
Saravá is an all-purpose Brazilian greeting and an acknowledgment. Sergio's Saravá brings a friendly Brazilian vibe to the restaurant. It's vibrant, active, and includes a variety of dining options themed as "street food": from tapa-style small plates and full bar, to dinner entrées and even a raw bar of oysters, clams, shrimp, and crab. Notable dishes include: Xim-Xim, a stew with chicken, shrimp, peppers, carrots, and tomato; and Brazilian-style Bouillabaisse with the catch-of-the-day. Vegetarians will be happy with a variety of pasta dishes like Prato Misto or Angel Hair Pomodoro. Sergio's also has desserts like Coconut Butter Cake and even a children's menu. SASA Matsu promises to bring a distinct culture of dining to Cleveland. It recreates the atmosphere of a traditional Izakaya which is a type of Japanese drinking-place combined with the usual sit-down Japanese dinner. Their menu is a mix of Asian cuisines, owing to the diverse backgrounds of its chefs. So what you get, is a great dinner in a typical Japanese restaurant setting, with paper lamps, dim lighting and sushi, and a sleek bar at the side. They also have special nights and a separate late-night menu. Catering services are available.
Grotto Shaker Square is located in the attractive Shaker Square and is considered to be one of the topmost wine bar destination in Northeast Ohio. It is open seven days a week and offers dainty Italian food in small portions such as duck confit sliders, Kobe beef carpaccio and bruschetta to complement with the wines. Grotto's center of attraction is the wine bar's 1,000-bottle wine cellar encased in stone and brick. The atmosphere is intimate and alluring with stone pillars, arches and beige venetian plastered walls. With that big a selection, choosing does become difficult, but the staff is ever helpful in selecting the right wine to match with a dish. Evviva!
It's always nice to find an inexpensive Indian lunch buffet. The Maharaja Madras Café offers just that, with a variety of food from the north and south of the Indian sub-continent. It's also conveniently located across from the Richmond Mall. Vegetarians should be particularly happy with the selection, and chefs are willing to accommodate vegans. Omnivores should be sure to sample their butter chicken or a variety of lamb dishes.
