The Zimpfer's Maple Products was first started in 1973 in West Senecaaus. Having moved to its current location in 1996, this plantation and store began selling Maple to its delightful customers. It uses a modern system of production, thus making fine maple syrup. Besides syrup, this place also produces Maple Cream and Maple Sugar. The Merle family has been producing maple products for over 100 years. With 16,000 taps they are one of the top ten producers in New York State. In addition to syrup they make a variety of maple products including maple cream, maple mustard, maple sugar and maple candy. They have won top prizes at the state fair several years in a row. While the farm is open for sales year-round, the best time to visit is during Maple Weekend in March. During this event they offer tours of the sugaring house, horse-drawn wagon rides, kid's activities and product samples.
Watt Farms is a retail farm market that sells seasonal and local produce of high quality. It grows and sells organic fruits from the market garden and as a bonus people can also enjoy fun-times at the ice-cream shoppe, greenhouse and train ride. Antique World is the largest indoor and outdoor antique and flea market in New York State. Indoors, hundreds of dealers display their wares year-round in 100,000 square feet in 10 buildings. You'll find glassware, pottery, dishes, furniture, jewelry, textiles, collectible items and more. On Sundays during spring, summer and fall, hundreds of additional dealers set up their wares outside. Two huge “super” flea markets are generally held in May and August. This family-owned toy store is stocked with a variety of toys that will spark imaginative play, such as toy soldiers, puzzles, and board games. One thing you won't find here are video games, as the shop's owners want to encourage creative play. The shop is also jam-packed with an ever-expanding collection of over 10,000 models of cars, trucks, planes, fire engines, tractors and construction vehicles. In fact, they have the world's largest selection of construction vehicle models, including bulldozers, cranes, backhoes, and dump trucks. This quaint store, which has continuously served the community for over 155 years, functions both as a convenience store for locals, as well as a country gift shop that draws people from all over the region. Originally opened in 1851, the store still features the original gaslights and wooden flooring. The first floor offers unique gift items, including home made sponge candy, penny candy, inexpensive toys, Marilla merchandise, cards, books and other interesting items.
