»Travis Tritt

January 30, 2015 8:00 PM

Since 1990, country singer Travis Tritt has been releasing records that seek to marry his love of r&b and gospel with that of the South's rich country and blues history. The bulk of Tritt's catalog is devoted to love ballads, most of which are lead by Tritt's own acoustic guitar melodies and sparse additional production. Like many country music stars Tritt has helped define, the music is almost always centers on love, loss and faith subjects that are most closely rooted in early r&b and gospel traditions.

»Escape The Fate With The Family Ruin / Run 2 Cover

February 05, 2015 7:00 PM

Escape the Fate has been through an amazing amount of turmoil since its inception in 2004. An incident in Las Vegas in 2006 left an 18 year old man dead and saw the band's front man facing jail time for his involvement. While the band's front mas wasn't able to escape his fate, other Escape the Fate members decided to part ways with him rather than wait for his 4 year prison term to end, as they were facing rising popularity and a demand for a tour. The band's style is post hardcore and will be appreciated by fans of heavy punk music and other metal forms.

»Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra: A Hilarious Visit To The Barber

February 14, 2015 7:30 PM

Located in California's Central Valley, Bakersfield is a city that has thrived off of agricultural production since it was founded in the 1800s. Though the city is a thriving agrarian mecca, Bakersfield has managed to build a name for itself as a fairly respectable artistic hub with organizations like the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra. First starting out as a community orchestra with adults and student instrumentalists in the 1920, it would exist for for nearly a decade until it officially became the Bakersfield Orchestra in 1932, with the intent of playing two compositional classics every year. It has since become a heatedly more professional company, performing numerous shows around the year, playing a range of material including modern symphonic pieces and more revered pieces from the likes of Beethoven and Mozart
