"Enchanted Wonderland" is an uplifting original holiday musical that centers around Oliver, a young boy who hasn't been happy for years. One night, his conscience suddenly springs to life and sets out to discover the source of his overwhelming sadness. Like Jiminy Cricket and Jacob Marley rolled into one, this living, breathing conscience takes Oliver on an exciting journey back in time to observe some important events from the past that just might help put his present and future back on the right track.
At this point, "It's a Wonderful Life" has become a holiday staple. What better way to kick off the season than to see the old favorite in a whole new way -- live on stage. This show-within-a-show takes place on December 24, 1946 in Studio A at WSTG Radio, where a cast of actors is preparing to present "It's a Wonderful Life" live to the listening audience. With the help of a pianist and a sound-effects artist, the ensemble re-enacts the beloved story of George Bailey, a young man who has given up on his dreams and stands on a bridge on Christmas Eve, ready to end it all. A guardian angel intervenes and shows him all the lives he's touched throughout the years without even realizing it. This is STAGEStheatre's sixth year presenting "It's a Wonderful Life" and the smiles and tears at every show prove that the story is every bit as powerful on the stage as on the screen.
One of the all-time great Christmas stories comes to the stage in "A Wonderful Life", a musical adaptation by Pulitzer-winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick ("Fiddler on the Roof") and composer Joe Raposo. Based on Frank Capra's iconic film starring James Stewart, this holiday favorite tells the story of George Bailey, a down-on-his-luck man whose guardian angel Clarence shows him what his town would be like had he never been born. A tearjerker even the biggest Grinch won't be able to resist, "A Wonderful Life" is sure to put you in the holiday spirit.
