Best known for playing a semi-fictional version of himself in the hit sitcom Seinfeld, Jerry Seinfeld is an American comedian, actor and writer from Massapequa, NY who is often described as an observational comedian. By Seinfeld's fourth season, the show had become the most popular and successful sitcom on American television before ultimately leaving the air in 1998 after a nine year run. After his sitcom went off the air, Seinfeld returned to stand-up comedy, and his process of developing and performing new material at clubs around the world was chronicled in Christian Charles' 2002 documentary, Comedian. Mannheim Steamroller
Harrah's Atlantic CityNovember 29, 2014 9:00 PM
777 Harrah's Boulevard
Atlantic City, NJ 08401
In an effort to breathe life into a style of music that is typically associated with days of yore and times when aristocrats ruled the majority of Europe, the American neo-classical group Mannheim Steamroller was formed in 1974 and has since helped introduce a new generation of fans to the wonders of symphonic music. Though the majority of the songs the group plays typically fall into the new age music category, the tracks are assembled in a way one would expect from a classical symphony. By incorporating elements of modern flair, like synthesizers and electronic drum kits, Mannheim Steamroller has pushed the boundaries of what people would typically perceive as compositionally sound music. While the outfit has always experienced marginal success since its inception, Mannheim Steamroller found its greatest critical and commercial success in 1984 when it released an album of Christmas instrumental covers.

Best known for his 1981 hit "Jessie's Girl," Australian-born singer/songwriter Rick Springfield got his start as a solo artist in the early 1970s when he relocated to the United States. He released his debut album Beginnings, for which he provided all the lyrics, songwriting, lead vocals, guitar, keyboard and bandjo, in 1972 to immediate acclaim. His acting career is perhaps best defined by his soap star status on General Hospital, a stint that lasted from 1981 to 1983 and kicked off the most notable decade of his career. His 1981 album, Working Class Dog, featured the Grammy Award-winning song "Jessie's Girl," which became an instant classic, catapulting Springfield onto the world stage. After a series of another six successful studio albums released throughout the 1980s, he took a hiatus from recording, focused on a side project and finally returned to his solo career in 1999 with Karma. Though he never regained the level of celebrity he earned in previous years, Springfield returned as a recurring guest star on General Hospital in 2005 and continues to release new material as a solo recording artist, ultimately reviving bit of the fame around his name.
