Stand-up Comedy Intro Class This Metropolitan Room Intro Class to Stand-up Comedy is approximately 2 hours. You can take as many intro classes as you desire. There is a limit to amount of students. If you are a naturally funny person and you are convinced that stand-up comedy is the perfect way to express your natural comedy talent, you'll learn the writing and stage skills you need to become a working comedian. This intro course will help you decide if this is the direction you want to take or simply have quench your curiosity of what it's like to tell funny stories in front of an audience. This Stand-up Comedy Intro Class familiarizes you to the basics of writing jokes and understanding what makes people laugh. Learn basics in the comedy business, getting stage time and getting hired. You will learn how to: Identify potential sources of material and What you should write about Write and effectively deliver funny jokes Memorizing your "set" of jokes Utilize timing and delivery techniques Make your stories funnier in everyday conversation Spice up your current public speaking skills Make an audience full of strangers laugh Perform in front of a live audience and conquer a fear of public speaking You will receive a workbook when you arrive. You can take this workshop as often as you want. Each workshop is run by different working comedians to get different points of view. The basic instructions are consistent however. The instructors are comedy producers, writers and working comedians on a rotating schedule.
