One of the most distinctive highlights of the College Point section of the New York City borough of Queens is the College Point Little League Building. Also referred to as the Firemen’s Hall, it is a monumental meeting hall, situated in the college point section. It boasts of being among the few remaining volunteer firemen’s halls in the entire New York City. It was constructed in 1906 on less than an acre, and depicts Queen Anne style of architecture. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 31, 2000.

Arthur Ashe Jr. was the first African-American to win the U.S. Open Championship and Wimbledon, and the first to be included in the U.S. Davis Cup team in 1963. In 1988, he was diagnosed with AIDS.
