Donnybrook Stadium is a ground essentially for Rugby. It's home to the professional Leinster team in Dublin. With a whopping capacity of about 7000 spectators, the stadium finds many people for the popular rugby matches. The stadium is ideal for various field sports as well. For a second one might think that The Royal Hospital Kilmainham is actually a medical centre. Well for once its not related to a hospital in the farthest sense. It is actually a "banquet venue" that holds conferences, banquets and exhibitions. Believing in giving "undivided attention to every client" they only book one event per week. They can cater for upto 1500 people and provide for parking of cars as well. The centre is located in close proximity to the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
In 1991, the restored site of the Royal Hospital was officially opened as the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA). Besides being the venue for excellent exhibitions and a number of educational and community-oriented projects, this splendid 17th century building also holds one of the best conferencing venues in Dublin. Namely, the Great Hall. Due to its various audio-visual facilities, the hall can used for conferences effectively. Built in 1939 as the world's first arena dedicated to boxing, this venue now also hosts music concerts and other events. Rock and roll and men throwing punches create a venue that combines both classic pastimes.
The Civic Theater is a fresh, purpose-built venue that comes courtesy of Dublin Corporation and that features a 350 capacity auditorium, studio space and bar/restaurant. While the theater is still finding its feet somewhat and is arguably a little inaccessible because of its suburban location (about 45 minutes from the city center), it's a great place to catch a diverse range of contemporary Irish and international theater. The Tallaght Stadium is a major soccer stadium in the suburban town of Tallaght and home to the Shamrock Rovers F.C. Under the ownership of the South Dublin County Council, the stadium recently (2008) underwent a € 9 million renovation. Well equipped with modern amenities, the stadium also host local sport meets and fixtures of the Irish Football league. The stadium is easily reachable by road or by train.
