Rated 4 out of 5 weekend stay Beautiful building with lovely grounds and views in a fabulous part of derbyshire . Close to lots of interesting places. Hotel is in need of a make over however the staff were friendly and attentive. Plenty of parking. October 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 Great place for a weekend break We have stayed at Makeney Hall on 3 occasions and each time had a great time. It is not cheap, but you do get excellent service and the location is excellent. We dined in each evening and the meals were exemplary. The waiting on staff were attentive and personable. Breakfast was buffet style and the food was warm and plentiful. The room we were in was in the courtyard with the fountain, very pleasant and recently decorated. August 19, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 Poor customer service Very poor customer service. Staff do not seem bothered whether you are there or not. This is not a four star hotel at all. There is no porterage , no water or even tissues in the rooms. The rooms seem to vary significantly but we paid eighty one pounds for a room overlooking the car park . We were both disappointed to say the least. August 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 Second stay at this hotel Great location and good service, however if the lift is not operating the stairs are a challenge for the elderly. June 27, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 Short Business Trip Very nice traditional hotel set in the Derbyshire countryside with beautiful views and lovely gardens to wander around, the restuarant served very good food and the service was excellent, breakfast too was excellent. However, just a couple of points to note, the lift was out of order and there are a lot of stairs to climb if you are on the upper floors of the main building, also the wifi was poor and the range does not cover all the rooms in the hotel.
